Scleranthus
UncertaintyIndecision, swinging between options
Step 1 · State (recognise)
You swing back and forth between two options, pulled inside, unable to truly settle.
Step 2 · Allow (the core)
I allow uncertainty to be here, without rushing the decision.
Step 3 · Back to the body
Notice your lower belly, or your sense of balance left to right. The body is touching, the body is breathing.
If you'd like the body to hold this state more easily, this is a good place to start.

In depth
【Emotional signature】
Scleranthus shows up when two directions live inside at once and won't integrate. You swing between choices — this seems better, and then the other side makes sense too. This isn't indecision. Your inner balance has temporarily lost its pivot, so the mind can't settle anywhere.
【Through the lens of neuroception】
What this card reflects: without a clear centre, the body keeps adjusting left and right, hoping to find a position where nothing can go wrong.
In this state, the body may show:
* Instability in the lower belly, as if the centre of gravity keeps shifting
* Feelings and thoughts pulling side to side without pause
* Doubt returning even after the choice is made
This is not a problem. The body is looking for steadiness — it just hasn't found somewhere to land yet.
【How this essence supports you】
The support of Scleranthus is in bringing you back to a sense of centre. It doesn't ask you to decide now, and it doesn't push you to take a side. It lets the body find its balance first. When the inner centre of gravity settles, direction becomes clear at the right time, on its own.
【Today's practice】
When you feel the inner pull, pause first. Let your attention rest lightly on your lower belly, or on the balance between your left and right side. There's no need to change your breathing — just know that the body is breathing. Let your centre come slowly back to the middle, without having to choose.
【Working with MUNI Scent】
Press a small amount of MUNI Scent into your palm, or open the bottle near your nose and take three easy breaths of it. Then rest a hand on your lower belly or near your midline, and let scent and touch keep you company, without expecting anything to change.
Smell is the only sense that skips rational analysis and reaches the centres of emotion and memory directly —
let the scent be a centre point, so the body can stop swinging.
How to work with this
Body awareness here is not about hunting for what hurts,
and not about making the body become something.
It's about choosing a part of the body that is relatively easy to feel,
so attention has somewhere to rest.
This is not for the sake of making a choice,
nor to remove the pull.
It is simply keeping company with the experience that is happening.
No intervening, no correcting — letting awareness unfold on its own, once it's allowed to.
For practitioners
If you are using this card with a practitioner:
* Keep your voice steady and neutral; avoid steering towards "which side is better"
* Watch for the centre of gravity returning to the midline, less swaying in the body
* You might say: "Nothing needs choosing now. Feel yourself in the middle first."
When you use MUNI Scent together:
In a shared scent environment, the body finds it easier to return to centre,
so steadiness arrives before the decision, on its own.
