Agrimony

OversensitivityA cheerful mask over hidden pain

Step 1 · State (recognise)

You may look easy-going and quick to laugh, while inside you carry a tension you would rather no one saw.

Step 2 · Allow (the core)

I allow what I actually feel to be here, without having to smile through it.

Step 3 · Back to the body

Notice your chest or upper belly. The body is touching, the body is breathing.

If you'd like the body to hold this state more easily, this is a good place to start.

In depth

【Emotional signature】

Agrimony often shows up in people who are practised at keeping the surface calm. You may be very good at keeping the mood light — with humour, with reason, with a quick "I'm fine" — so that nothing in the relationship gets disturbed. Underneath, though, the body is holding tension and pressure that never got said out loud. Over time the real feeling gets folded inward, and only the "looks fine" version keeps running.

【Through the lens of neuroception】

What this card reflects: the body has learned to use lightness on the surface to maintain safety and connection, while staying quietly alert underneath. In this state, the body may show: * A dull, closed-in feeling in the chest or upper belly, as if emotion were being held down * Tension in the neck and shoulders you can't quite explain * Sighing without meaning to, or finding it hard to truly let go This is not a problem. It is the body trying to protect the relationship and the room it's in — it's just that this way of protecting costs you something.

【How this essence supports you】

The support of Agrimony is in letting the inside and the outside slowly come back into line. It doesn't ask you to speak up or change right away. At a pace that feels safe, it lets the body feel again that even without holding it together — even when you are simply honest — you can still be held. Once that permission is felt, the tension begins to loosen on its own.

【Today's practice】

Find a brief moment where you won't be interrupted; sitting or standing both work. Let your attention rest lightly on your chest or upper belly. You don't need to change your breathing — just know that the body is breathing. If emotion surfaces, let it be here. If nothing comes, that is completely fine too.

【Working with MUNI Scent】

Press a small amount of MUNI Scent into your palm, or open the bottle near your nose and take three easy breaths of it. Then rest a hand on your chest or upper belly and let scent and touch keep you company, without expecting anything to change. Smell is the only sense that skips rational analysis and reaches the centres of emotion and memory directly — let the scent bypass the habit of "I should be fine" and gently stay with the body, here.

How to work with this

Body awareness here is not about hunting for what hurts, and not about making the body become something. It's about choosing a part of the body that is easy to feel, so attention has somewhere to rest. This way of working stays out of the way — no intervening, no correcting — just slowly growing familiar with the experience that is already happening, letting awareness unfold on its own, once it's allowed to.

For practitioners

If you are using this card with a practitioner: * Keep your voice gentle and unhurried; don't rush to guide or interpret * Watch for small shifts — shoulders dropping, a sigh, the eyes softening * You might say: "You don't have to do this well. Being here is enough." When you use MUNI Scent together: In a shared scent environment, bodies find it easier to settle and sync, so safety doesn't have to be understood — it simply happens.
