Centaury

OversensitivityUnable to say no, over-pleasing

Step 1 · State (recognise)

You say yes to what others need almost before you think, even when something in you is already stretched or tired.

Step 2 · Allow (the core)

I allow myself to be respected, without having to please anyone first.

Step 3 · Back to the body

Notice your lower belly or pelvis. The body is touching, the body is breathing.

If you'd like the body to hold this state more easily, this is a good place to start.

In depth

【Emotional signature】

Centaury often shows up in people who are gentle, considerate, and willing to accommodate. Without noticing, you may put others' needs first — saying yes even when something in you is already reluctant. Over time the body grows tired, energy drains away, and still the refusal won't come out. This isn't a lack of will. It's the habit of putting the relationship first, worn deep.

【Through the lens of neuroception】

What this card reflects: the body has learned to keep relationships safe by going along with things, even when the inside has gone past what it can carry. In this state, the body may show: * An empty feeling in the lower belly or pelvis, as if strength had been drawn out * Tiredness you can't quite account for * The body leaning forward, already preparing to accommodate This is not a problem. It is one of the ways the body protects connection — it just needs to be included in the care as well.

【How this essence supports you】

The support of Centaury is in letting you feel where you yourself stand. It doesn't ask you to harden or shut people out. It lets the body slowly learn that a boundary can live inside gentleness. When willingness stops being the same thing as forcing yourself, your own strength comes back on its own.

【Today's practice】

Somewhere in the day, find a moment; sitting or standing both work. Let your attention rest lightly on your lower belly or pelvis. There's no need to change your breathing — just know that the body is breathing. When you think of what someone else needs, take the same moment to feel how you are right now.

【Working with MUNI Scent】

Press a small amount of MUNI Scent into your palm, or open the bottle near your nose and take three easy breaths of it. Then rest a hand on your lower belly or pelvis and let scent and touch keep you company, without expecting anything to change. Smell is the only sense that skips rational analysis and reaches the centres of emotion and memory directly — let the scent be a reminder of your own return, while the body slowly stands back where it belongs.

How to work with this

Body awareness here is not about hunting for what hurts, and not about making the body become something. It's about choosing a part of the body that is relatively easy to feel, so attention has somewhere to rest. This is not for the sake of setting boundaries, nor to force yourself out of a habit. It is simply keeping company with the experience that is happening. No intervening, no correcting — letting awareness unfold on its own, once it's allowed to.

For practitioners

If you are using this card with a practitioner: * Slow your voice and keep it gentle; avoid instructions that push "do more for yourself" * Watch for the pelvis steadying, the breath deepening, the body coming back upright * You might say: "You don't have to decide anything. Just feel whether you're here." When you use MUNI Scent together: In a shared scent environment, the body finds it easier to return to its own centre, so safety in relationship no longer rests on accommodating — it's simply there.
